Nails In Videos. Pfoeh! Haven't done an edition of this in more than one year. Biggest reason for that might be that my favorites artists didn't made a video in the last year. Reason I wanted to do one right now is because of the newest video from Miley Cyrus. Oh my gawsh, her nails looked amazing! Unfortunately no fancy high end nail art this time, but great artist with plain and beautiful nails.

Kelly Osbourne was spotted with a very outstanding manicure last Sunday at the 64th Annual Emmy Awards. She decorated her nails with real black diamonds. The most expensive manicure of the event, probably the most expensive manicure ever. How expensive? $250.000!

NOTD: The Hunger Games Effie Trinket Manicure

May the odds be ever in your favour.

The Hunger Games, the whole world is talking about it, and so am I. I have seen the movie exactly one week ago and was so excited when I saw the nails of Effie Trinkets, played by Elizabeth Banks, on screen. If you watched really good and close, you might have seen a couple manicures on Effie. I just chose to do the manicure she is wearing in the beginning of the movie, during the lottery.

A new edition of Nails In Videos! I haven't done one in quite a while. I don't know why because I love making an article like this. I've made one before back in December 2010 and I did one of Lady Gagas Judas video back in May. It hasn't been a lot, but that doesn't matter because I have pictures enough to compensate.

Have you girls(and guys) seen Lady Gaga's newest video Judas? Well I did and I love it! I am not going to talk about the fuss that is been going around about the song and what message Gaga wants to give us with the video.. But I want to show you her nails. I totally love her nails in this musicvideo.

In this article I showed you nails of celebrities I really liked. They wore the nails to an event or just in their daily life. Now I'm going to show you my favorite nails and nailart in videoclips. If you cannot see the nails that good, just click on the pictures to enlarge them.

First nails are from Lady Gaga in her Pokerface video. These are her famous pokerfacenails. You can't really see what see has on her nails but she has rhinestones on her nails in different shapes. Her ringfinger has a red heart. The rhinestones and nailart on her other hand was different than her right hand on the photo.

And again Lady Gaga! I love these nails. It's not a daily nailart because it is very extreme. It's a glossy black nail with metal gauze. I wouldn't wear this because I will scratch my eye out. Ofcourse this look is from the video Bad Romance. 

History of nailpolish

Nailpolish is the finishing touch of your outfit. If your a fashionista then you probably love nailpolish. These days celebrities set a trend when it comes to nails. No wonder that big brands want to collaborate with stars like Katy Perry. But how, why and where did it all start? Let me tell you something about the history of nailpolish:

Grave finds in Egypte, from 2000 year before Christus, show us that they already used nailpolish in those days. Nailpolish back then excisted out of a mixture of henna and crushed leeches, sometimes even their own blood. Cleopatras preference was rust red, Nefertitis liked ruby red more. Egyptians had the regulation: how brighter the nailpolish, how higher the range. Women's in a low range were aloud to paint their nails, but only in pale red.

In China there where per Dynasty different colors in fashion. In the Chinese Mingperiod(1368-1644) the favorite nailcolors were red and black. Having long nails was a sign of well-being. The Ming Dynasty-people showed others that they didn't had to work to have and get a good life. In China the nailpolishes were made out of beewax, gelatine, Arabic gum and plantdyes. Nailpolish in the Minperiod was only ment for the upper class. If you didn't belong to a Dynasty and you had nailpolish on your nail they could hang you anytime.

Trend: Ombré Nails

Ombré manicure, the nailtrend of this year. Actually spring 2010, but here in Europe you can still wear it and pull it off!

You might have seen the Ombré-look before in different hairstyles. But what does Ombré mean? Ombré is the term for shading.

This term in fashion was a huge hit mid 90s.. and it has made its comeback in the fall of 2008!

That was a little historyclass about ombré, onto the nails:
It's very easy to do it on your own nails.

When you start with Ombré nails you have to pick out five shades of the same colors. When you don't have five shades of one color you can also choose two colors, one color you like and a black/white to mix in varying degrees in color.

When applying start at with the darkest color on your pinkynail, then color each nail towards the thumb a shade lighter. 
If you like you can also start with the darker color at your thumb and color every nail towars your pinkynail a shade lighter.

Trendsetter of this nailhype is Lauren Conrad. She was one of the first people who we've seen with this naillook. This picture of her and ofcourse her nails is made over a year ago.

Enough talk about this trend. There's already a new nailtrend around ombré. I'm going to write an article over it in a couple of week.

Celebs and their nails!

I love looking at celebrities.. and especially their nails! Celebs are the main reason for me to come up with different looks of nailart. Most looks I make I've already seen on example Rihanna or Victoria Beckham. I just give a look my own twist and make it my own.

Now I want to show you four looks of celebrities who have amazing nails!

First is Lady Gaga! This photo has been taken at the MTV VMA's from last year. What I like about her nails is that they are so long and pointy. They make her hands look dangerous. The only thing I do not like about these nails is the color. I'm just not that into plain livercolors.

Next is Rihanna! These nails I adore! I love animalprints and these nails don't really have the original colors of a panther but the different colors on her nails do match very well. One thing I would skip putting on my nails are the bows and rhinestones. I just don't like them on my own nails.. but I still looks great on someone else!

There is not one thing I don't like about this photo. I like the dress, I like the hair, I like makeup and the nails! As you can see Katy Perry has got some bling bling nails. I just keep on staring at those nails. Can't say anything bad about them.

Bee has some lovely golden nails. I think they are Minx-nails like the BUSH-nails from Kim Kardashian. I really like them.. you can never pull gold metallic of like this with just an nailpolish.
