Do you ever walk by a place and see a product lying there, available for very little? Well, that's how I got these Barbie polishes. Although these polishes are for kids, I was kinda curcious about the polishes itself, plus it's Barbie!
Barbie nail polish. One bubblegum lavender polish, and the other one is just a clear polish with glitter. These polishes aren't real polishes. The texture is different, it's a lot thicker than regular polish and it smells more like paint. The polish is a little hard to apply because of the thickness and dries longer than expected. The polish doesn't harden as regular nail polish and only lasts two or three days. To remove the polish you just need water and soap, because it's based on water, no nail polish remover needed.
Because the polishes are from the brand Barbie, and meant to be for kids, you might think the ingredients are friendly and non toxic. I looked at the ingredientlist of both polishes and indeed, the polishes are completely non toxic.
Ingredients of the clear glitter polish: Aqua, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Acrylates Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
Ingredients of the colored polish: Aqua, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Mica, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexyglycerin, CI77891, CI75470.
Polyvinyl Alcohol is a synthetic molecule that makes sure it can desolve in water. Propylene Glycol is a organic compound which is a substance wholes molecules contain carbon. Acrylates Copolymer is plastic. Mica is a mineral and Phenoxyethanol is a bacterial liquid that tones down the smell in beautyproducts.
Yeah, I like these polishes. The're non toxic, removable with just water and I like the colors. That all for just two Euros.
ReplyDeleteAha I love these types of polishes! I have 2 hello kitty ones myself that are exactly how you describe, but don't dissolve with water and soap. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda interested with the whole dissolving thing though- how would one keep the polish on for 2-3 days if it'd come off when he/she would go to the bathroom & wash his/her hands?
^All I know is that you really have to soak the polish with warm water and scrub a lil to get it off. Just washing your hands won't get the polish off of your nails. But I'm very interested in the ingredients and how that works.
